Heather Shannon

Heather ShannonHeather is a writer, editor and Denver-based communications professional. Born in Denver, Colorado, Heather earned an M.A. from the University of Denver in Communications and Journalism and was a reporter for the Vail Daily newspaper in Vail, Colorado. Through the late 1980s to 1995, Heather lived in New York City where she was a writer and marketing consultant in the financial services and fashion industries.

Heather was a senior editor for Charles Schwab and Sony Music, before joining the curriculum development team of the Jones Knowledge Group as a contract editor in 2005. Heather is coordinator of special events for the Progress Group.

Adam Brock

Adam Brock

Adam Brock is a permaculture educator and sustainability consultant based in Denver, Colorado. Born and raised in Denver, Adam is a graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study with a concentration in Ecological Design. While at NYU, Adam was an active member of the Sustainability Task Force, a joint body of students, faculty and administrators, and organized several campus-wide initiatives around sustainability. Off campus, he's served as a GIS specialist for the Pratt Center for Community Development and New York City’s Million Trees Project, a product developer for Green Irene, and a sustainability auditor for the Planet Green show Wa$ted.

Now re-rooted in Denver, Adam works to incorporate the ethics and principles of permaculture into yards, businesses, and local policy through his company, The Wild Green Yonder. He is on the initiating committee of Transition Denver and teaches classes at Denver Urban Homesteading and the Denver Botanic Gardens. AJAJ Joplin

AJ Joplin is a first year International MBA student at the University of Denver. After years of working and business ownership, she realized that it was time to continue the education she always wanted. Helping The Greater Good Academy form productive, mutually beneficial relationships with the University of Denver's students, faculty and staff is a big focus for her this year. She lives in Denver with her beautiful family.

Kostas Alexiou

KostasKostas is a graduate student at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business. He is currently in pursuit of an MBA with a concentration in Sustainability. Originally from Ohio, he studied Biology and Philosophy at Ohio University from 2003 to 2007. In 2004, Kostas formed a highly successful live electronic music ensemble, Papadosio, which he helped launch until deciding to leave the life of a performer/producer in 2009 and relocate to further his education in Denver. Since moving to Colorado in 2009, he has been employed by Switch, Liberate Your Brand, a marketing agency for Coca Cola's "Active Lifestyle Brands", and has worked as the team lead Brand Ambassador for the Colorado region. Additionally, Kostas is an active member of the DU NetImpact Chapter, a student organization focused on making the world a better place through socially and environmentally responsible business practices.

krisKris Franklin

Kris is a graduate of the fall 2010 Greater Good Academy. She is now coordinating the Academy's Alumni Network. Kris is the founder of rampArts Consulting which specializes in balancing the philanthropic goals of companies with the missions of non-profit organizations.

Sarah McElroy

Sarah McElroySarah is originally from Minnesota and came to Colorado to attend the University of Denver in 2006. She completed her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Spanish in 2010 and is now completing an MBA at the Daniels College of Business. Sarah is interested in combining her passion for environmental science with business and is interested in the ways that sustainability can be profitable for businesses. This interest is what sparked her interest in the Greater Good Academy which she heard about through the Net Impact chapter at the University of Denver.
